Ok, well I downloaded what I thought was a safe program, let AVG scan it before I opened it, and it didn't find anything, ran the program, and now I'm so infected it isn't funny...

As I stated above...I'm worried about rebooting...I don't want to lose everything on this computer....here is my log file

new problem...now I can't get into the actual forum or post to see if anyone has responded...the website keeps forwarding to 404dsnerror.com and then at the top is the fakeo security center saying its blocking some Dr. program.... can someone email me the fixes or something? This is really annoying....

Hello and welcome to the forums

First download ewido anti-spyware from HERE and save that file to your
desktop.
This is a 30 day trial of the program

• Once you have downloaded ewido anti-spyware, locate the icon on the desktop
  and double-click it to launch the set up program.
• Once the setup is complete you will need run ewido and update the definition
  files.
• On the main screen select the icon "Update" then select the "
  Update now" link.
  • Next select the "Start Update" button, the update will start and a
    progress bar will show the updates being installed.
• Once the update has completed select the "Scanner" icon at the top of
  the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
• Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then
  select ""Quarantine".".
• Under "Reports"
  • Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
  • Un-Select "Only if threats were found"

Close ewido anti-spyware, Do Not run a scan just yet, we will shortly.

• Reboot your computer into SafeMode. You can do this by restarting
  your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears.
  
  Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode then hit enter.
  IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or
  programs while ewido is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning proccess:
• Lauch ewido-anti-spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
• Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab
  then click on "Complete System Scan".
• ewido will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little
  time.
  Once the scan is complete do the following:
• If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all
  actions"
• Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
• Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the
  screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where
  you saved that file, this is important).
• Close ewido and reboot your system back into Normal Mode and post the
  results of the ewido report scan along with a new HijackThis log.

Ok, thanks, I'll give it a try....sadly I have AOL dial up, and I don't have a printer to print out your directions so I must write them all down.... This is such a pain in my butt....I was finally able to get back into the thread by going to aols browser instead of using IE.... I'll try it out see if it helps.. Thanks, Kat

it found over 180 amount of things even though I had run Adaware, EMCO Malware, Spybot, Pest Trap (which is buy only, and didn't remove anything) I followed your directions....at the end of which, it said:

"C:\documents and settings\owner\local settings\Temp\asmfiles.cab\asm.exe cannot be quaratined because it is embedded in the archive" do you want to quaratine the whole archive....I said yes.

Then I started Windows normally...and ran HijackThis...here is that report:

Follow the prompts.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.

When finished, it should produce a log, combofix.txt.
Post this log in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.

Well, its not just that anymore. I reran Ewido, AVG, Adaware, and EMCO Malware Destroyer....they are still finding Trojans. AVG cannot remove it, and EMCO isn't finding anything, same with Adaware...so Ewido didn't remove everything..... Are you sure downloading another browser would help? Or was that only because my comment on IE going slow? A lot of the infections don't effect FireFox, but you can just do the Combo Fix then.

Can you post the Ewido scan log?

I had tried to post the Ewido log before, but I must not have saved it correctly. I didn't see the post about copying it to notepad. It did remove some of the viruses.

I tried to reboot in safemode again, but now its asking me what OS I'd like to reboot with (it didn't ask me this originally when I rebooted into safemode to run Ewido the first time) and the only option it gives me is "Microsoft Windows Whistler Personal" so I decided not to choose it because I didn't know what it was and it didn't ask me the day before when I rebooted into safe mode

Ewido should remove thos. Run oer instructions:

[/list][*]select the "Scanner" icon at the top of
the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
[*]Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then
select ""Delete".".
[*]Under "Reports"

• Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
• Un-Select "Only if threats were found"

[/list]Close ewido anti-spyware, Do Not run a scan just yet, we will shortly.

• Reboot your computer into SafeMode. You can do this by restarting
  your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears.
  
  Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode then hit enter.
  IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or
  programs while ewido is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning proccess:
• Lauch ewido-anti-spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
• Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab
  then click on "Complete System Scan".
• ewido will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little
  time.
  Once the scan is complete do the following:
• If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all
  actions"
• Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
• Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the
  screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where
  you saved that file, this is important).
• Close ewido and reboot your system back into Normal Mode and post the
  results of the ewido report scan along with a new HijackThis log.

Is it safe to go into safe mode by checking off the option to run that OS? I don't have more then one OS. And it didn't give me this choose an OS before when I first ran ewido...

Okay, so basically I tried to run a restore (before I saw your latest post), it run through, restarted the computer then I got the message that the restore would not work. Also two DOS windows popped up saying C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe whatever that means.

When I ran Ewido the first time I followed your directions and it didn't remove everything...there were the Trojans that it could not remove.
